About Mrs. Birdwell

My name is Mrs. Kara Birdwell, I have been teaching at Lascassas Elementary School since 2017. I absolutely love all the children and it is such a joy to see them grow, learn, and have fun. I am very happy and excited to work at Lascassas Elementary with such a wonderful staff and an amazing group of students! 

 

I graduated from The University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Business Management in 2012. I went back to school to earn my Masters degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2016. I grew up in Westmoreland, TN and moved to Knoxville, TN in 2009 for my bachelor's degree.

 

I lived in Knoxville until 2016 and moved to Lascassas following my husbands job. I was very fortunate when my husband and I moved, we knew Lascassas would be our new home.

 

I have a wonderful husband, Dyron! We have been married since 2014 but we are high school sweethearts. We moved to Lascassas to follow his basketball coaching career. He coaches boys' basketball at Oakland High School.

 

We welcomed our daughter, Jayla, into the world in July of 2020! She is our world and pride and joy!

 

I do consider the basketball team and all my students to be my "babies" for life!

I do have an adorable little Yorkie puppy named Abby.
