New Law that went into effect this year

 TCA 55-8-207 Mobile telephone in school zone or with hands-free device by minor

 - It is an offense for a person to knowingly operate a motor vehicle in any marked school zone in this state, when a warning flasher or flashers are in operation, and talk on a hand-held mobile telephone while the vehicle is in motion.

 - It is a delinquent act for a person under eighteen (18) years of age to knowingly operate a motor vehicle on any road or highway in this state and talk on a mobile telephone that is equipped with a hands-free device while the vehicle is in motion.

Seatbelts

Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among those aged 1-54 in the U.S.1 Most crash-related deaths in the United States occur to passenger vehicle occupants (drivers and passengers)

Seat belts reduce serious crash-related injuries and deaths by about half.

2018 Junior Deputy Academy

May 29th-June 1st, 2018

From 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Costs- $10.00

What: This is a camp for rising 6th graders only. They will experience a summer camp like atmosphere and learn about Public Safety departments in Rutherford County. The students will also be able to train in the RadKIDS program which is a self awareness/self defense class taught by SRO’s. Also learn about First Aid and CPR. There will be other activities as well.

Monday 5-28-18 Memorial Day!

Tuesday 5-29-18 Camp from 8:00am to 2:30pm

Wednesday 5-30-18 Camp from 8:00am to 2:30pm

Thursday 5-31-18 Camp from 8:00am to 2:30pm

Friday 6-1-18 Camp from 8:00am to 2:30pm

Where: Barfield Elementary School

350 Veterans Parkway Murfreesboro, TN
